Be Mine Jesus: How It All Got Started by Carolyn Carter

Be Mine Jesus began when I remembered women on my job receiving deliveries for Valentine’s Day.

There were so many beautiful flowers arriving into outstretched hands and smiling faces of many squealing, laughing women in the office.

But looking around, there was another simultaneous scene.

Empty desktops.

Desktops of empty hands that extended from saddened smiles that did not hold any expectation of a deliverer.

I then remembered the first chapter of Ruth, versus 16 to 17 (Ruth 1:17):

But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go, I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried.

When there is no one for you or with you, who do you have?

Who is there to deliver you joy?

A mother-in-law was chosen to take the place of a lost-to-death lover in this scripture.

Hope was given.

God has gifted something even better.

That gift is that we have a guaranteed delivery of joy in JESUS who saves us in so many ways.

Jesus is more than a moment of receiving dying flowers, a soon-to-be-eaten box of chocolates, or a faded card from someone you want at the time to just be yours.

There is an ever-abiding joy to be held in your heart having the delivery of Jesus Christ.

Simply ask Him, “BE MINE JESUS,” and live with the assurance that He is just that.
