Our Momma hearts go through a myriad of emotions and experiences.
Day to day. Night after night.
Our hearts are the hull in which our children’s wellbeing resides. We hope and pray that the sail we ambitiously set ultimately leads our children to a destination that is fulfilling.
Fulfilled with life giving pursuits, such as loving God with their whole heart as well loving their neighbor, their fellow friend or even foe as they would love their own self.
But on this journey, there are days we, me and you, question if we are even worthy and qualified to be held responsible for giving society a human being.
Oh, those distressful days!
We cry, we get frustrated, we lose patience, we lack grace, compassion is the last resort, and love, as Christ would, is sometimes not the first response.
Then we ask for forgiveness and strength so that we may keep our ship of precious cargo afloat, because the precious cargo we are carrying is a gift from God. We are reminded of this when our children do little gestures (see pic), that validate the cyclical thought,
“I AM WORTHY! I AM QUALIFIED.”
