My “Why” Revisited

Gathering, conversing, connecting, and growing. These are the words that come to mind as I think about my “why” for Conversations with Mommies in 2019.

In case you are new, we are a community of married women who serve God, our husband, and our children while practicing grace, compassion, patience, and love according to Psalm 145:8 (The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love).

I know what you’re thinking, “Serve God, my husband, and my children?! I am already stretched thin,” but yes, that’s right; and the thing is, you are already doing this. However, the goal is to commit to a servant’s mentality that is propelled by grace, compassion, patience, and love.

As we become more Christ-like in our daily walk with God, we want to be intentional in learning and applying God’s Word to our life, loving on Him in our praise and worship, and being the salt and light to those who need His salvation. All the while, our service to our husband and our children are enhanced and functioning at optimal speed because we have chosen to fill our tanks with tools that allow the Holy Spirit to work and operate in us, to help guide as well as comfort us.

It is my heart’s desire to gather together at our Mommy Meetups, Reader’s Circle Meetups, and in our Facebook community with a purpose to connect and grow in Christ in becoming better wives and mothers. I envision the most genuine hospitality (food included <insert smile>) enveloped in a safe, free of judgment, loving, and fun-filled atmosphere.

Colossians 4:6 (NIV) reminds us, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Mothers who are struggling in their marriage and motherhood will be encouraged by other moms who have experienced a similar journey.

Every woman is in a season, whether it be one that radiates joy or one that showers pain. Yet, in our seasons, we are committed to pursuing grace, compassion, patience, and love, so join the conversation! We have lots to talk about.
